Why Did The Policeman Cross The Road? – References and Sources

Over the course of the nine years it took me to research and write Why Did The Policeman Cross The Road? I read a lot of books, academic papers, magazines, websites and much, much more. Rather than clog the book up with pages and pages of references, I thought I’d post them here – just in case they are of use to you.

Some of the subject matter may seem to be unrelated to the book. However, my first draft was twice the size of the final manuscript; three whole chapters were removed and a great many examples. The subjects of those removals are contained within this list. They may surface in a second volume.
